Edward Vernon Taylor, Jr. Obituary (1949 - 2010)

Edward Vernon Taylor, Jr., 61, of Cumming, GA died on December 14, 2010. Born in Cumming, he was the son of the late Edward V. Taylor, Sr. and Dorothy Dot Taylor of Cumming, GA. Eddie served in the US Air Force and was a commercial realtor. He was active in the Cumming and Forsyth County community serving as a County Commissioner, Board of Education member, board member of Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce, Past President of the American Cancer Society and a member of the Lanier Forsyth Rotary Club. Eddie was in the 2008-2009 Leadership Forsyth Class. He was also a member of the North Georgia Mountain Riders. In addition to his mother, Eddie is survived by his partner, Dayla Jo Peters of Cumming, GA; children, Kendra L. Taylor (Kevin) Rich and Seneca R. Taylor of Cumming, GA; brother, Dwight L. (Debbie) Taylor of Big Canoe, GA; and nephew, Landon D. Taylor of Crested Butte, CO. Pallbears: Buddy Lang, Dr. Michael Hogan, David Harrelson, Kevin Rich, Quincy Wiley, Denver Caldwell, Miles Newton and Tom Bower. Honorary Pallbears: North Georgia Mountain Riders and Lanier Forsyth Rotary Club. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Mountain Lake Church. Rev. Shawn Lovejoy, Rev. John Shepherd and Rev. Travis Bridgeman will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 18 from 5:00 9:00 pm and on Sunday, December 19 from 11:00 am 2:30 pm at the funeral home.
