Edward Russell Molpus

Edward Russell Molpus, AIA, 83, of Big Canoe, died July 21, 2018.

Russell was born March 30, 1935, in St Louis, Mo., and raised in Mobile, Ala. He graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile and received his degree in architecture from Auburn University. He served as a captain in the United States Air Force Reserve before settling in Atlanta where he practiced architecture for 40 years at Aeck Associates and other firms. He and his wife Patricia moved to Big Canoe 18 years ago into a home he designed. Russell loved his family, friends, European travel and the Auburn Tigers.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Patricia Pruitt Molpus; son Jim and wife Marti and grandchildren John and Lauren of Franklin, Tenn.; daughter Alice of Atlanta; sisters Jean Cieutat of Mobile and Marilyn Molpus of Peachtree City.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the general scholarship fund at Auburn University or to the American Cancer Society.
