Edna Tipton Wood

Edna Tipton Wood, 88, of Gainesville, GA passed away October 26, 2012. Born in Canton, GA she was predeceased by her husband Ray Wood, her mother, Andivine Newman, of NC and her father, FA Tipton, of Ellijay who worked at Canton Cotton Mill during the depression. She is survived by her loving children Lee and Gwen Hulsey of Acworth, GA and Angela and David Bishop of Gainesville, GA. Mrs. Wood leaves behind four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She was the youngest of eleven brothers and sisters. Edna was a member of Christian Hope Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a Blueprint Controller for Lockheed for 35 years and retired in 1992. A Memorial Service will be held at Christian Hope Baptist Church in Cumming, GA October 28th at 10:30am. Visitation will be Sunday, October 28th at 2:30pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home.
