Edna Mae (Tow) Jarrard

Mrs. Edna Mae Jarrard, age 72 of Atlanta, formerly of Cleveland .Mrs. Jarrard passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Southern Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Saturday, February 19, 2011 from the Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Potts and Rev. Danny Harkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Jarrard was born in White County on May 28, 1938 to the late Jessie Tow and Minnie McCarter Tow. She spent her adult life in Atlanta where she retired from the Fulton County Board of Education with over 20 years service as a bus driver. Mrs. Jarrard and her late husband, Carmel " Bud" Jarrard owned and operated Metro Nursery and Landscaping for over forty years, serving all the Metro Atlanta area.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jarrard is preceded in death by her brother, Russell Tow and sister, Barbara Dyer.

Survivors include her daughters, Diane Whitley of Atlanta and Beverly Bryant of Lithia Springs; sons, Gerald Jarrard and Bruce Jarrard both of Atlanta; brothers, Junior Tow of Cleveland; sisters, Hazel Winkler of Cleveland and Betty Watts of Pendergrass.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8
