Dorothy "Dottie" Ann Sorrells Obituary (1931

Dorothy Ann Sorrells of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the age of 92. Dottie was born to the late Jacob B. and Tiny Mae Voegele in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Dottie sang in the choir at First Baptist Church Sylvan Hills in Arkansas for many years before moving to Cumming where she continued to serve in many ways. She was active in Women's Mission Union, served as a Stephen Ministry mentor, and volunteered with First Kids at First Baptist Cumming. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Earl Willard Sorrells of Cumming. In 1949, Dottie married the love of her life, Earl, and went on to have two children. She is survived by her son Earl Ray (Marilyn) Sorrells of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter Sandy Wise (the late Donald Wise) of Cumming, Georgia; grandchildren Jennifer Sorrells, Holly (Chris) Hickey, Nathan (Georgie) Wise, Rachel (Jody) Spain, and Rebekah (Jeremy) Kirby; great-grandchildren Jonah, Raegan, Chesney, Avery, Cassandra, Robby, Nate, Kirby, and Max; sister Sara (the late Jerry) Donaho of Sherwood, Arkansas; brother Jake (Margie) Voegele of Cabot, Arkansas; and nieces and nephews. A service will be held at McDonald & Son Funeral Home in Cumming on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Receiving friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
