Donald Springer

–

Dahlonega, Georgia

Donald Charles Springer, age 78, of Dahlonega, GA, peacefully passed away on April 8, 2024, from complications with late-stage dementia.

Donald, born August 12, 1945, to the late Charles Springer and Margaret Davilio at Mitchel Air Field in Hempstead, NY, grew up in Poughkeepsie, New York. He attended Rider College, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. On May 3, 1975, he married Sherry Ayres. The family moved to Roswell, GA, in 1984, where Donald ran his own sign business for many years. He was deeply involved in the Roswell Recreation program's Youth Softball league, volunteering as a coach and umpire.

Throughout his life, Donald pursued various hobbies, including working on MGs and woodworking. He took great pleasure in crafting toys and furniture for his family and was always willing to assist those in need. He was an avid supporter of the Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. Donald cherished spending time with his daughters and grandchildren, particularly during camping trips. In retirement, he and Sherry explored the country in their RV, accompanied by their dachshunds, Lucie & Charlie, who were constant companions.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sherry; his daughters, Jennifer Duncan and Kellee (Cade) Williams; three grandchildren, Caroline and David Andrew Duncan Jr. and Elijah Williams; and his sister, Patty Martin.

No public funeral services will be held. The family requests that no flowers be sent; instead, making a donation to the Dementia Society of America in Donald's name will better honor his memory and support those still battling dementia.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for the support and condolences received during this difficult time.
