Dr. Donald G. Schultz

Dr. Donald G. Schultz, 81, of Cumming, GA passed away on June 13, 2011. Born in Forest Park, IL, he is predeceased by his wife, Donna Jean Korrell Schultz and brother, Kenneth Schultz. Dr. Schultz graduated from Proviso High School in Maywood, IL. He earned his Bachelor and Masters degrees from Northwestern University, and his Doctorate of Education from the University of Georgia. He started his career with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and also held several positions with the DeKalb County school system. He held the position of Principal at Towers High School and later that of Assistant Superintendent. He is survived by his wife, Barbara B. Schultz of Cumming, GA; daughter, Patti (Stan) Dickerson of Cumming, GA; daughter, Susan (Mark) Ramberger of Cumming, GA; son, Bob (Brenda) Schultz of Cumming, GA; step-daughter, Cathy (Skip) Plemmons of Alpharetta, GA; and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of McDonald & Son Funeral Home of Cumming, GA. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm on Saturday at North Atlanta Memorial Cemetery in Dunwoody, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 8:00 PM on Friday. Rev. John Cromartie will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Dr. Schultz s name to the American Cancer Society (Forsyth County Relay for Life) at 2565 Thompson Bridge Rd., Gainesville, GA 30501.
