Donald Lawrence Platzer 12/16/76 - 1/2/2023 46 Years Old

Donald Lawrence Platzer passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Donald and Doreen Platzer, Versa and Maurice

Tunnicliffe as well as his Uncle, Timothy Scheetz.

He is survived by his Mother Vicki Schroy and his Father Donald Platzer, along with his step-parents

Michael Garstecki and Shirl Platzer. Along with his parents, he is survived by his Sisters, Jennifer

(Platzer) Wagner and Briana (Platzer) Famous along with stepsisters, Christina (Kramer) Knapper

and Chelsea (Garstecki) Zengerle and stepbrother, Shane Garstecki.

His final days were spent surrounded by the family he loved so much. His life may have been cut short,

but he touched the hearts of many while he was with us.

Don always had an unforgettable witty sense of humor and a love for football that started at a young

age. He would watch Penn State games with his Dad and or Pap, and was a big fan of the Philadelphia

Eagles. He knew every player on just about any team and his knowledge for the game always amazed

many.

Apart from football, family and friends; Don Loved the Lord with all he had, he became an active

member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he was baptized and started on his

journey to pursue the life God had planned for him. He admired his Church family and spoke of them

often, he was so happy to be a part of something greater and moved into the role of counselor in the

Elders Quorum Presidency where he was serving as the ward mission leader.

He will be missed by many including his brother-in law's Daniel Wagner and Brian Famous,

His nieces, Julia and Hannah Wagner, Shelby Famous, Emma Zengerle and Jennifer Sutton

And his nephews Bryson Wagner and Connor Famous Derrick Knapper

A Memorial Service will be held for Family and Friends on Saturday January 14, 2023 @ 2PM at the

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

located: 3815 Dahlonega Hwy Cumming GA.
