Donald John Kieffer, Sr.

Donald John Kieffer, Sr., 86, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2016.

Don was a loving husband. He was the father of 10 children, "Grandpa" of 19, and "Great-Grandpa" of 15. He set the example for a Christian and loving home, and his family will miss him dearly.

Don is preceded in death by his parents John and Rose Kieffer of Buffalo, NY and his daughter Maureen Baun of Cumming, GA.

Don is survived by his wife, June; children, Eileen and Bob Heim of Cumming, GA, Sue and Bud Upton of Cumming, GA, Don Kieffer, Jr., of Cumming, GA, Ken and Karen Kieffer of Cumming, GA, Terry and Ray Echuck of Cumming, GA, Tom and Gini Kieffer of Cumming, GA, Randy and Bonnie Kieffer of Alpharetta, GA, John and Beth Kieffer of Cumming, GA, and Fran Kieffer of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Sean, Chris, Danielle, Jennifer, Mikaela, Amanda, Christina, Brian, Jeremy, Stephen, Jimmy, Brad, Mike, Tommy, Jake, Ryan, Maddie, Ali, and J.T.; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Saylor, Grace, Eliza, Josie, Peter, Rebecca, Audrey, Charlie, Lincoln, Tyla, Colleen, Caroline, Mason, and Adler; siblings, Bernard Kieffer of Buffalo, NY, Eugene and Marilee Kieffer of Buffalo, NY, and Janet Smith of Buffalo, NY.

Don was born on November 7, 1929, in Buffalo, NY to John and Rose Kieffer. He graduated from Canisius College with an MBA. He married June, his high school sweetheart, in 1950. He and his twin brother had a very successful building and development business in Buffalo, NY. Don moved his family to Marietta, GA, in 1978, and opened Kieffer and Sons Builders. Don and June relocated to Cumming, GA, in 1983. Don later opened Century 21 North Towne Realty.

Don was an active and dedicated member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Marietta, GA, and Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA. Over the years, Don served in multiple ministries in both churches.

Visitation will be at McDonald and Son Funeral Home Wednesday, April 27 from 5 until 8pm and Thursday, April 27 from 10am until noon. His funeral service will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming on Thursday, April 28 at 2pm.
