Donald Aaron Ballard

Donald Aaron Ballard (Don) of Cumming, Georgia passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022 after an illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Ann Arnold Ballard, and his two daughters, Jennifer Ballard Nickell (David) and Melissa Addams Pace (Steve), and four grandchildren, Alex Addams, Zachary Addams, Grant Nickell and Charlotte Nickell. He is also survived by a brother, Thomas C. Ballard, Jr. of Bradenton, Florida, and many nephews and nieces. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Don was the son of the late Thomas C. Ballard, Sr. and Pauline Ballard. Don will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

Don attended Trinity High School and Bellarmine University in Louisville, Kentucky. He and Ann retired to Atlanta after living in Miami Lakes and Weston, Florida. Don had a long, successful career as a sales executive with Art Etc. in Louisville and Rose Printing in Miami, and retired in 2013. He enjoyed cooking, playing cards, attending classical concerts, traveling with his wife, Ann, and spending time with family and friends. Don always had a smile and a laugh for everyone and was a great storyteller.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 14 at 2 pm at McDonald & Sons Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra (www.acsorch.org or 303 Peachtree St NE, Suite 4500 Atlanta GA 30308-3264) where his daughter is a violinist.
