Della Jackson

Mrs. Della Jean Nipper Jackson age 63 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on June 18, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Della was a woman whose compassion and resilience served as a beacon of light to all who were fortunate to cross her path. Born on August 20, 1960, in Macon, Georgia, Della's story was one of unwavering strength and boundless love. Her journey ended on June 18, 2024, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Having spent her career in the healthcare industry, Della devoted her life to the service of others. After earning her Associate degree in nursing from Georgia College in Milledgeville, she served as a tireless nurse working for the Coliseum Hospital in Macon Georgia. Upon moving to North Georgia, she worked at Lanier Park Hospital as their ICU supervisor. She soon found a passion for cardiology and started her journey with The Heart Center as a medical coordinator. Della would often go beyond her call of duty to ensure her patients felt cared for and comfortable. Della was not just a healthcare worker; she was a beacon of hope and comfort to those in need. Her legacy continues to inspire those who follow in her footsteps.

Della's love was not confined to her profession; it extended most profoundly to her family and friends. Her greatest moments of comfort and happiness came from spending time at the beach and being surrounded by those she loved most.
Della is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Walter Jackson; her children, Holly Shuttlesworth (Russell), Rusty Jackson (Lacy) and her stepson Terry Jackson (Tammy); her grandchildren Jana and Mattie Shuttlesworth, Paxton Carter, Jax Jackson , Tee Jackson, Aubrey Clark, Kelsey Calder, great granddaughter Josie; her father William Nipper; sisters, Sandra Herin (Geno), Judy Lynaugh (Danny), Pam Mauldin (Joey); brother James Dykes (Sara) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends considered family also survive. Della was preceded in death by her mother Dorothy Nipper, and sisters Kathy Edwards and Balinda Duncan.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday Junes 22, 2024 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday June 21, 2024 beginning at 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again prior to the funeral service Saturday beginning at 11:00 am. Interment will follow after the funeral service processing to Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Dawsonville, GA.
