David Eugene Goodwin

David Eugene Goodwin, 78, passed away Thursday January 27, 2011, at his home in Dahlonega, GA. Mr. Goodwin retired from the US Air Force where he served as a medic. He was a former resident of Thomaston, GA. He loved painting, model trains, and collecting fountain pens and harmonicas. Mr. Goodwin also enjoyed listening to country music and visiting The Cigar Shop. He is preceded in death by his wife Liz Goodwin, sister Beulah Selby, and granddaughter Ana Goodwin. He is survived by his children David Sy & Christy Goodwin of Dahlonega, GA; Bonnie Davis, Plains, GA; Cindi Allen, Peachtree City, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Goodwin, Jamie Brannan, Janna Poole, Tripp Smith, Richard Goodwin, Gracie Goodwin, Ada Goodwin, and great grandchildren; Logan Goodwin, Landon Goodwin, James Brannan, and Daniel Poole. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 29, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel at Dahlonega Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Hutcheson will be officiating. There will a visitation from 3-5pm before the service. The family would like to express a special thank you to Andrea, Ted, & Jeff of Compassionate Hospice, Lamberson s Home Care, and Dahlonega Baptist Church.
