David Wayne Avant

David Wayne Avant, 58 of Cumming Ga, passed away from cancer on September 12, 2021, surrounded by family. He was born in Winston Salem NC on April 26, 1963, to James E. Avant and Irene (Gregory) Avant. David grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Lakeside High School in 1981. David did various jobs throughout his lifetime, with his main trade being a small engine mechanic. David was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He was also the life of any party and enjoyed being surrounded by those he loved.

David is preceded in death by his mother Irene Avant.

David is survived by father and wife, James E. Avant and Jennie Avant; wife and partner for 20 years Christy Avant; four children, David M. Avant, Chris Avant, Amanda Sierra (Alex Sierra), and Allisa Avant; grandchild Thiago Sierra; brothers Jim, John, and Ken Avant; sisters Linda Holst and Lisa Triplett; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life was held for David on Saturday, September 18, 2021 with a host of family and friends present.
