Daniel Thornton

–

Suwanee, Georgia

It is with immense love and a profound sense of loss that we reflect on the life of Daniel Thornton, born on September 3, 1996, in Atlanta, Georgia, and who left us on March 8, 2024. As the poet Maya Angelou beautifully expressed, "People will forget what you said...what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Daniel, a cherished son, friend, and colleague, had an innate ability to make everyone feel special and valued. His spirit, kindness, and relentless optimism left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to cross his path.

Daniel was an exceptionally gifted Civil Engineer, driven by a passion for technology and an unwavering commitment to creating a better world combined with professional sales acumen. After graduating from Georgia Southern, he did engineering work at the Kennedy Space Center before becoming one of the founding entrepreneurs of a cutting edge technology company, Torr Dynamics.

Daniel is survived by his loving parents, Roy Thornton, Susan Thornton, and his step-father, Bob Shumaker. His best friend and older brother, Ryan, his sister-in-law Blayne, along with his two nieces, Presley and Lynden. In addition his maternal grandparents, Lou and Diane lesu. His step brother, Daniel, and his step sisters, Brooke and Lauren. Finally, survived by the love of his life, Lily Westbrook, to whom he would surely have soon married. His absence is deeply felt, and he will forever be remembered for his radiant smile, his laughter that could light up a room, and his boundless enthusiasm for life. He was a beacon of positivity, reminding us all of the power of kindness, the strength in unity, and the beauty of a life lived with purpose and passion.

While full of life and unending exuberance, his guiding light was ultimately his faith in his King and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is in His arms that Danny resides at this time in the joy and glory of His presence.

We invite you to share your memories of Daniel and upload photos to his memorial page. Each anecdote, each photograph, and each quiet reflection adds another brushstroke to the rich tapestry of a life beautifully lived. In this space, we can remember, celebrate, and honor Daniel's life, the love he shared, and the difference he made.
