Daniel Patrick Hogan

–

Cumming, Georgia

Tragically, on Sunday, June 13, 2021, Daniel Patrick Hogan was taken by our Lord to his heavenly home. Dan was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 9, 1961. The family relocated to Georgia in 1962. Dan attended both Avondale High School and Peachtree High School, where he excelled at football, baseball, and wrestling. Dan went on to attend Mississippi State University where he also was a two-sport athlete all 4 years in football and baseball on nationally ranked teams. Dan lettered in both sports and was an M Club member.

After graduation from MSU, Dan returned to his home state of Georgia where he joined State Farm as a Claims Adjuster and, in 1992, as a State Farm Insurance Agent. While at MSU, Dan met Mary Virginia Ward (Jenny), and they married in January of 1988. They have three children: Zachary (Kimberly), Chandler (Kelly Anne), and Danielle Cook (Patrick). Dan is also GrandDan to Destin Cook. Also surviving are Dan's parents George and Pat Hogan; his siblings Christine Brown (Patrick), George (Annette), Barbara Sanders (Phillip), and Kathy Harris (Jonathan); his sister-in-law Debbie Smith (Mike) and brother-in-law Danny Ward; his nieces Jolie Eaves, Madeline Ouellette (goddaughter) (Josh), Maria Pritchett (Matt), Candice Kearney (Zachary), Alexis Sanders, Corrine Sanders, and Sierra Harris; his nephews Josh Ward, Brett Smith (Kellye), Stan Smith, Nicholas Brown, and Jackson Harris; and a host of other beloved family and great friends.

Dan was a special guy. He was a true gentleman with a quick wit, a servants' heart, and unparalleled charisma. He loved to golf, boat, snow ski, and gather with his friends to cheer on his Maroon Bulldawgs. He took pride and joy in helping others. And Jenny always loved the twinkle in his eyes when his mischievous streak came out, which got him off the hook regularly.

Many hearts have been broken, and without his laughter, the world will be a little dimmer for those who loved him. He received countless awards for athleticism, but his proudest accomplishments were Zachary, Chandler, and Danielle. We know he will continue to live on in them and watch over us all.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 4pm to 8pm and on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from 11am to 2pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cat Rangers of Buford, GA, 289 W Shadburn Ave, Buford, GA 30518, (770) 831-5513 or to Samaritan's Purse https://www.samaritanspurse.org/.
