Daniel Benge

Daniel Joseph Benge passed away August 23, 2025, at the age of 54, only two days after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

He was born on May 7, 1971 in Stockton, California, grew up in Gladstone, Oregon, and graduated from high school in Chester, New York. Over the years, he also lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and ultimately settled in Cumming, Georgia.

Dan was the cherished son of Bruce and Judy Benge. He shared his life with his husband, Allen Barnes, his mother, Judy, his brother, Bryan, and sister-in-law, Rebecca, along with nieces and nephews who meant the world to him. A devoted animal lover, Dan also leaves behind several beloved dogs and a cat who were constant sources of comfort and joy. He was preceded in death by his father, Bruce, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Those who knew Dan will remember his loving and generous heart. He was passionate about video gaming, movies, and music, and he had an enduring fascination with technology, always eager to explore new ideas and innovations. Above all, he cherished the adventures of daily life with his best friend and husband, Allen.

In honor of Dan’s memory, no formal services will be held. Instead, the family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate his life in their own way. Those wishing to honor him are encouraged to make a donation to a local animal shelter or rescue group, causes that were close to his heart.
