With great admiration and fondness, we celebrate the extraordinary life of Clayton Phillip Thiessen, affectionately known by friends and family as Kato or Mr. T. Born in Poynette, Wisconsin on August 27, 1929, Clayton's journey was a testament to his love for life and his deep-rooted passion for all things mechanical. A devoted member of the Lutheran - Good Shepherd Church, he embodied the verse, "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters" (Colossians 3:23), a fitting testament to his unyielding dedication to his craft and his community.
Clayton's mechanical prowess led him to a fulfilling career in the auto industry. His love for tinkering with small engines and embarking on building projects was not just a hobby, but a way of life. His passion for speed and precision was further showcased in his love for stock car racing and snowmobiling. Clayton's impressive skill and devotion to stock car racing won him numerous awards and championships, a testament to his relentless determination and unique talent. Even in his retirement, Clayton continued to immerse himself in his passions, his hands ever busy, his spirit ever vibrant.
Preceded in death by his parents, George Thiessen and Alma Erickson, and his loving spouse, Nancy Thiessen, Clayton's legacy lives on in his family. He is survived by his sons, Dale (Linda) and Danny, friend (Amy) Thiessen, his granddaughter, Dawn (Wayde) Kreager, his grandson Craig (Kim) Thiessen, his grandson-in-law, Wayde Kreager, his great grandchildren, Alishya Kreager, Kinsley Thiessen, and McKenna Thiessen. Each of these individuals carry a part of Clayton within them, his love for life and his relentless spirit forever etched in their hearts. He also leaves behind his 2 dogs, Mitzy and Teddy.
As we celebrate Clayton's enduring legacy, we invite you to share your memories and photos on the memorial page. Let us remember Clayton not for his departure, but for the remarkable life he lived, the lives he touched, and the love he shared. May his memory continue to inspire us, as we keep him forever in our hearts.
