Charles Pendleton

–

Dahlonega, Georgia

October 5th, 1932 – September 24th, 2024

Charlie Pendleton was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, to James Perry Pendleton and Evelyn Pauline Huefe Pendleton. From a young age, he enjoyed playing sports and attending church. Despite modest means, Charlie’s dedication and talent led him to the University of Missouri, where he walked on to the football team and earned a scholarship. He graduated with a degree in economics.

It was during college that he met the love of his life, Carolyn Stiles. After graduation, Charlie proudly served in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of captain. On February 9, 1957, he and Carolyn married, sharing 67 years of love and companionship until his passing. Together, they raised their two children, Beth and Chuck, in Roswell, Georgia, alongside their beloved horses, dogs, and cats.

Charlie had a passion for watching the Falcons and exploring new places through travel. After retiring, he and Carolyn settled in Dahlonega, Georgia, where they continued to enjoy their life together. He was a devoted member of Roswell Presbyterian Church and later Dahlonega Methodist Church.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, James and Evelyn, his brother Jim, and his daughter Beth. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn, his son Chuck, daughter-in-law Lisa, grandson Nicholas, granddaughter-in-law Alana, and his newest pride and joy, great-grandson Stiles.
