Charles Michael McGowin

Charles Michael McGowin, 57, of Alpharetta, GA passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Northside Hospital Atlanta. He attended Midway Methodist Church. He graduated from the University of South Alabama, Mobile, in 1979 with a degree in Marketing and Transportation. He started his career with Vanity Fair in 1979 in Milton, FL. as an Industrial Engineer and retired in 2008 as Vice President of Vanity Fair Intimates in charge of Product Development in Alpharetta, GA. He loved boating and fishing with his buddies, and was a loving husband, father and uncle. He was preceded in death by Charles Warner and Della Mae McGowin and nephew, Charles McGowin Spencer. He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Clyde McGowin of Alpharetta, GA; sons, Dr. Greyson Lee McGowin of Birmingham, AL, Michael Denby McGowin of Cumming, GA, Stephen Duvall McGowin of Cumming, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Gayle McGowin and Lonn Spencer of Mobile, AL. and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Cumming, GA The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until service time. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Mike s memory to your favorite charity or the American Cancer Society.
