Catherine Marie (Walker) Phillips

Catherine (Cathy) Marie Phillips (Walker), 59, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on July 15th, 2022 after a battle with lung disease. Cathy was born on October 16th, 1962, to Alicia and Irving Walker in Lansing, Michigan. She is survived by her husband Chris Phillips, her daughters Christy and Amanda Phillips, and her brother Jon Walker (Jeannie and their 5 children). Cathy graduated from University of North Georgia with a degree in early childhood education.

She brightened many lives while teaching at Creekside Christian Academy for 7+ years. Cathy was a lover of animals and people; which could be seen in her work as a dog trainer and a nanny. Her faith in Christ was strong, and she was known to share scripture with family and friends at just the right time. She did not know a stranger. To know Cathy was to love her, and she will be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, from 12:00pm - 1:00pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. A celebration of Catherine's life will be held in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home at 1:00pm.
