Dahlonega, Georgia
Carolyn passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loving family. Life always held surprises and laughs where Momma was concerned and her final earthly journey was no different. She was preceded in death by her parents Bob and Cindy Goodrich and her two sisters Alma Goodrich and Wilma Goodrich. Faithfully loving the three sisters are their brothers; Bob Goodrich(Karen) of Medford, OR and John Goodrich(Susan) of Dawsonville, GA. Carolyn’s children Tommy Annis(Stephanie) of Titusville, FL and Cindy Tomblin(Todd) of Dahlonega, GA will forever feel their Mothers’ presence and strength. Sharing precious memories of her love and laughter are her grandchildren; Michael Annis (Alexandra), Steven Travis (Celeste), Ansley Travis, Tommy Annis III, Trenton Annis (Emma) and Jacob Tomblin. Carolyn’s life was an adventure from the start; growing up in Oak Ridge,TN and then moving to Atlanta, GA with her family. She graduated from West Fulton High School. Living life for the moment, she left Atlanta and headed north to become a stewardess for Northwest Orient Airlines in Minneapolis,MN. Glamorous and beautiful, she traveled awhile but soon fell in love. Not long after, like the song goes “first comes love, then comes marriage”…then came Tommy in a baby carriage! Carolyn soon moved herself back to Atlanta with her two children. She found herself employed by a company willing to hire a young, single mom of two. Carolyn grew up and into a lifetime career with Owens-Corning Fiberglas. From Atlanta, Cincinnati, Greenville, Miami, Tampa, Albany,GA to Chicago… she loved the roofing and supply industry that provided her financial security, life-long friendships, many opportunities and a life well-lived. She was able to successfully manage a warehouse full of inventory, her staff, managerial responsibilities and her customers with honesty, integrity and professionalism. Carolyn moved to Dahlonega in 2006. Retirement wasn’t easy for a woman used to being busy so she sought employment on “The Square.” For many years you could find Miss Carolyn reigning over the desk at High Cotton. Sharing stories with loyal customers and visitors alike, her affinity for decor, her love of the North Georgia mountains and genuine natural friendliness… she was a true delight to encounter! Her greatest quality has always been her tenacious spirit, which never dimmed. When in doubt-fake it. When problems arise(and they will)-dig deep. When you are scared-pray. When you feel joy-share it. When you love-SHOW IT! This speaks to the essence of how God made her, and how she lived-authentically. Carolyn wrote her final chapter of life in colorful days and happy moments. She was truly a MOST GRACIOUS LADY.
