Caroline Neath, nee Dunkley, 95 years old from Albany, St. Mary, Jamaica and Cumming, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 10th, 2022.
Born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her sisters May and Jenny, over twenty five years ago. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Frederick [Helene] and Milton [Odette], daughters Jacqueline and Janette, nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Miss Caro or Mum, as she was affectionately called, touched people's lives. Family as well as friends speak of her kindness and her open and welcoming heart. She was a source of comfort to many as people moved from one phase of their lives to the next. And she was loved by all, some who are now scattered in various parts of the world.
A curious mind who relished the fact that she was able to see well enough to read way into her 90s, Miss Caro valued educational achievements highly and encouraged her children and grandchildren to do the same. She loved to pick from her fruit trees and use her herbs, particularly lemon grass and sarsaparilla, for her twice daily tea and of course encouraged others to do the same. She loved to share her life and it showed.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 2:00 pm at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA 30040.
The family also expresses special thanks to Amedisys Hospice of Lawrenceville for the care given to Caroline during her last weeks on earth.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking you to donate, via check, to Food for the Poor. So let us give thanks for Ms. Caro's years here on Earth. She was a lady who led a life of generosity and service!
