Cumming, Georgia
Carol Harris Clark, of Madison, Connecticut, age 87, passed away peacefully after a short illness, with her family by her side, in Cumming, GA. Carol was born February 27, 1936, in Queens, New York and was the daughter of the late Margaret M. Harris and Robert W. Harris. Carol was preceded by her beloved husband, John D. Clark and her son, Jay T. Clark.
Carol is survived by her daughters Lori Blackwell and Elizabeth Clark Brock; daughter-in-law Sue Clark; son-in-law Jim Brock; granddaughters Stephanie Clark, Lily Bennett, Megan Clark Daneke, Hannah Beathard, and Summer Carlson and many dear, cherished friends.
Carol had a passionate interest in literature, travel, music, and epicurean delights. She was a caring, lifelong educator in Special Education and English as a Second Language (ESL).
Her fondest childhood memory was frolicking in the ocean waves at Sagaponack, Long Island. She often described being "boiled" by the waves and the resulting plethora of sand in her bathing suit.
In 1953, Carol started college at the University of Vermont. Mid-senior year a handsome, young, medical student walked behind her and soon they were walking together. This marked the beginning of her walk through life with John D. Clark. Vermont became a part of her forever and Carol relished spending summers at the lakeside paradise of Cedar Beach, Vermont.
Carol's wishes were for no formal memorial service; however, the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on May 13, 2023, from 11am-2pm, in Cumming, GA. Contributions in memory of Carol H. Clark may be made to the American Cancer Society, Agape Hospice Care, and Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
