Brittney Lauren Powers 3/8/85 - 7/3/15 We mourn the sudden and tragic loss of our Brittney Lauren Powers. The outpouring of love and prayer through this journey has been overwhelming. "Britt" was a very beautiful, caring daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Her passions were her niece August Jane and animals. Her profession as a veterinary technician was right up her alley. She had four cats, most of them rescued that would require special foods, medication and love. Britt would make sure they had food before she did. Brittney is survived by her loving parents Kathy Kennedy and Steve Powers, her birth father Chris May, stepfather David Kennedy, twin sister Bre, brothers Bryson and JT, sister Riley, and niece August Jane; maternal grandparents Barbara Kramer, Richard and Nikki Greer, paternal grandmother Judy Powers, paternal grandfather Bob May; Aunts Michelle, Lori, Kelly, Laura, Beth and Uncles Bill, Dennis, Mike, Mark, Pete as well as many, many cousins! A Memorial and Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 9 @ 7:30pm at Lanier Holiday Chapel, 6900 Lanier Islands Pkwy., Buford, GA 30518. Please dress casually and wear comfortable shoes. This is an outdoor chapel; feel free to bring an extra chair or blanket! Brittney is in Heaven with Grandma May and Papa Joe smiling down on all her loved ones.
