Brett Tannahill Obituary (1965 - 2024)

Brett Lawrence Tannahill January 6, 1965 – April 12, 2024 Brett was a lover of animals, especially his beloved dogs Dash, Patches and Maggie. He had many talents which elevated the word SPECIAL on special occasions. Over the years Brett crafted one of kind cakes for weddings and birthdays with décor to match. Every Christmas, family and friends looked forward to his infamous holiday gift baskets and homemade Lasagna. He loved to create things in the home and garden and created a beautiful backyard oasis where he lived and lovingly took care of his mother Alyce. Brett had a passion for Broadway tunes, classic movies and all things nostalgic. Brett passed peacefully in his sleep on April 12, 2024, and was preceded by his father Larry Tannahill and his sisters Kerrey Jordan Smith, Kathy Caldwell and Rebecca “Becky” Iamunno, whom we know have all welcomed him warmly in heaven. He is survived by his mother Alyce Haynes and step mother Michelle Waits. Sisters Kelley Bishop (Sonny Lennard), and Heather Tannahill. Nephews Jeremy Jordan (Lauren), Forest Bishop (Mallory) and Caleb Iamunmo. Nieces Kami Alford (Blair), Julie Head (Brian) and Parker Iamunno (Julian). His 5 step-brother and sisters ; Ronnie, Cindy, Sherry, Terry, Tracie Haynes. The Parish family, the Mainor family, Hughes/Roper and Brown families were among his dearest friends which he considered family. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 18 at 2:00 PM at Lake Lanier’s West Bank pavilion followed by a reception at Sonny and Kelley’s home. In lieu of flowers, donations to these wonderful charities can be made on line, in his name to the Forsyth Community Clinic at: Forsythcommunityclinic.org, or the Forsyth County Animal Shelter.
