Brenda Ann Gravitt
It is with a mix of laughter, love, and memories that we announce the passing of Brenda Ann Gravitt, who left us far too soon at the age of 73 on December 27th. A woman who could light up a room with her quick wit and fiery spirit, Brenda was known by many as a "spitfire" —Whether she was making you laugh until you cried or letting you know exactly what she thought, you always knew where you stood with her and there was never a boring moment if she was around.
Born on April 26th in 1951, in Cumming, GA, to Ralph and Eunice Gravitt, Brenda was a woman who preferred to keep things close to the heart. Her passion for life was most evident in her love for the lake, where she could be found in her element, soaking up the sun or making memories with her closest friends and family. She loved being surrounded by those who appreciated her spunky, no-nonsense personality.
Though she may have been a woman of few words when it came to her private life, she made sure her presence was felt — whether you were laughing at her jokes or shaking your head at her bluntness. She was a "character" through and through, and those who knew her understood that her straightforward nature came from a place of love and loyalty. She had a way of making you feel like you mattered, and she did it in her own, unforgettable way.
She is survived by her older brother, Ralph Gravitt and his wife Fran, their children Michael, Casey, and Candice; her baby sister, Marilyn Durand and her husband Louis, along with their daughters Kelli Cavender and Kimberly Bailey; and nine great nieces and nephews.
A private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life and the legacy of laughter and love she leaves behind.
You can finally rest in peace, Brenda. You were a force to be reckoned with, and you will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know you.
