Bonnie Pastelyak
February 21, 1945 – March 15, 2025
Bonnie Pastelyak (née Baker), age 80, passed away peacefully at home in Johns Creek, Georgia on March 15, 2025. Born on February 21, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, Bonnie spent much of her youth in the Midwest, eventually settling for good in Atlanta after her daughter was born. She pursued her lifelong passion for art through study and self-expression.
A true creative at heart, Bonnie was known for her love of sketching, her exquisite sense of style, and her eye for beauty in all things. She had a gift for making spaces feel warm and welcoming—whether through her early and later-career work in interior decor and decorating (both commercial and residential) or simply in how she made a home. She retired after a long and dedicated career at HoneyBaked Ham, but continued to channel her talents into her love for gardening, music, and decorating.
Bonnie had a servant’s heart. After retirement, she became a devoted volunteer at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, where she served for many years and led the hospital auxiliary—work that brought her great purpose and joy until the COVID-19 pandemic halted volunteer programs. Her faith was foundational in her life; she was deeply devoted to God, her church, prayer, and Bible study. She spent her life taking care of others, always ready with kindness, compassion, and help.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Pastelyak, who passed away in 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Chris Havrilla; her beloved granddaughters, Alexis Grace Havrilla and Sydney Adele Havrilla—her “angel babies,” of whom she was endlessly proud; and many dear friends and extended family who were touched by her generous spirit.
A funeral service will be held on June 7th at 12:00PM. at McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the community food ministries Bonnie loved and supported, in honor of her lifelong commitment to serving those in need:

Bonnie will be remembered for her creativity, grace, and selfless love. She gave beauty to the world not only through her art and design, but through the way she cared for others—with kindness, humility, and faith.
