Bobbie Allmond Marbut

Bobbie Allmond Marbut, age 76, of Cumming, GA passed away peacefully on May 5, 2015. Bobbie was born November 16, 1938 in Swainsboro, GA, to the late Taylor Monroe (TM) and Gladys Stephens Allmond. Her family eventually moved to Phenix City, AL where she graduated from Central High School in 1956. She attended Auburn University, studying to be a dietician so she could share with others her love of good food and cooking. She relocated to Columbus, GA where she worked as a Teller for First National Bank for 20 years. She was a member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church in Columbus and Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian in Cumming where she enjoyed friendships, the choir and the services of the Presbyterian faith. Bobbie appreciated great music, theater and the arts and enjoyed dancing with her husband, Wes, at the Harmony Club. After leaving Columbus, Bobbie and Wes made homes together in Reynolds, Woodstock, Gainesville and Cumming, GA. Other than her parents, Bobbie is preceded in death by her brother, Billy Monroe Allmond and her beloved stepmother, Lolie Layton Allmond. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, W. Wesley Marbut, her son, Adam F. Suhr of Hockley, TX, stepdaughters and sons-in-law Melanie and Richard Madden of Gainesville, GA, Marcia and Rick Stone of Suwanee, GA and her granddaughter, Meredith Stone of Suwanee. Her sister-in-law, Goldie Allmond, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life service will be held in the chapel at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming, GA at 3:00 on Saturday, May 16, 2015. Reverend James Kelso with Mel Smith of Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church will officiate. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
