Bimla Mehta

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Bimla Mehta, beloved daughter of Ram Lubhai Mehta and Kundan Lal Mehta, and cherished wife of the late Ramesh Chander Mehta. She departed this life on August 20, 2024, at the age of 85. Born on September 16, 1938, in Domali, Pakistan (formerly British India), Bimla Mehta's remarkable journey was marked by resilience and compassion.

Her early years were shaped by the trials of partition of India, as she and her family migrated to India in 1947. Despite these challenges, Bimla pursued her education with unwavering determination. She taught herself English and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, ultimately dedicating her career to public health through various nursing assignments, including roles in Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

After retiring as a nursing officer, Bimla continued to lead a vibrant life, finding joy in activities that brought comfort and happiness to those around her. She delighted in preparing delicious meals, knitting beautiful sweaters and scarves, and engaging in gardening and singing. Her love for flowers and her keen sense of humor brought laughter and light into the lives of everyone she encountered.

Bimla is survived by her daughter Kanan Mehta, son-in-law Anand Vasudevan, and granddaughter Aranya Mehta Anand and the Mehta and Bhimwal family. Her legacy of strength, kindness, and joy will forever be remembered. Though we grieve her loss, we find solace in the cherished memories and the profound impact she had on our lives. This is not a farewell, but a heartfelt promise to see her again when our paths cross once more.

A funeral to honor her life, will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at McDonald and Son Funeral Home, starting at 1:30PM.
