Betty Louise (Bayush) O'Saben

–

Cumming, Georgia

On August 8, 1933, Betty Louise Bayush was born in the humble coal-mining town of Johnstown, Pennsylvania. Betty's parents, Thomas Bachusz and Catherin Zajac, proud Polish immigrants, raised her alongside her nine brothers and sisters.

Upon graduating high school, Betty earned her LPN and became a licensed practical nurse. Betty dedicated her entire professional life to serving at Johnstown's Hospital, something she viewed as more of a vocation than a career.

During her early years as a nurse, Betty was charmed by a daring coal delivery driver, Stephen Vincent O'Saben. The young locals fell in love and were wed in Johnstown on February 27, 1954. The pair would remain committed to one another and in love until their parting days.

In 1957, the O'Sabens relocated to Willowick, Ohio. While Steve thrived in his new career, Betty built a home, raising five children in their new town. A dedicated mother, Betty lived in Ohio until she and Steve moved to Cumming, Georgia in May of 1995, wanting to continue being a meaningful part of her children and grandchildren's lives.

Betty and Steve lived a fulfilling twenty-six years in Cumming, enjoying each others' company and watching their family grow before their eyes. A testament to their love, Betty and Steve shared sixty-one purposeful years together, and when Steve passed away in December of 2015, the couple spent their final moments together in their beloved Georgia home.

Betty was known for her many attributes, and she will be remembered as the phenomenal Polish cook, she was - stylish aprons and all. Most significantly, Betty will be remembered for her innate capacity for extending kindness to others, particularly those in need, and will continue to influence generations to come.

Betty, who was guided in life by her faith, joined Steve in the presence of the Lord on Monday, January 17th, 2022. Betty is remembered by her five children, ten grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends whom she loved and cherished. Rest in peace Momma. We LOVE you! OX OX
