Betty Hicks

Peggy Joyce Betty Hicks, 72, of Gainesville, GA died on November 24, 2009 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late John and Mattie Angel. Her son, Jerril Hicks, also predeceased her. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by those who loved her. Betty is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Fred Hicks of Gainesville, GA; daughter, Brenda (Mickey) Sheffield of Cumming, GA; sister, Neaver Blackwell of Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Missy Stanley, Heath, Luke and Adam Hicks; and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 27, 2009 in the chapel of McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The Rev. William Carl Bud Kendrix will officiate. Interment will follow at Big Creek Cemetery in Alpharetta, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 5:00 9:00 pm and on Thursday, November 26, 2009 from 9:00 am 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
