Betty "Joyce" Ford

Joyce Ford, age 81, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Joyce was proceeded in death by her parents, Pershing and Edith Mayfield, daughter, Tracey Woodham, sister, Rachael Kirkpatrick, and brother, Lynn Mayfield. Joyce is survived by her husband, Drew Ford, son, Tim Woodham, grandchildren Shawna Iler and Eddie Iler, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, the many, many friends she had, and her pet cats, Ally, Buffy, and Henry Ford.

Joyce was born and raised in Gardendale, Alabama, later moving to Georgia. Joyce was retired from Boeing International.

Joyce and Drew enjoyed the peace and solitude of living in the house they built in the mountains of Dahlonega.

Joyce was the Queen of the Golden Girls of Dahlonega Red Hat Society, and enjoyed all the times and travels she shared with the group.

Joyce was proudly awarded title of "Iron Woman" during her participation with the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office Citizens Law Enforcement Academy.

Joyce was known to have never met a stranger and always brought a smile to everyone. Joyce loved life and had an enormous number of friends, and while she will be greatly missed, her memories will live on to all that knew and loved her.

A service celebrating the life of Joyce will be held at McDonald Family Funeral Home in Dahlonega, on Sunday, December 18, 2022. Visitation will be held starting at 1:00 PM, with service at 2:00 PM.
