Berton Arthur Corpening

Berton A. Corpening, September 26, 1918 October 5, 2012 Born in Franklin, NC, and was a lifelong employee of Shell Oil Company. Bert was a loving husband to the late Sarah, and proud father of Joe and Terry Thurmond of Gainesville, GA, Jim and Linda Thurmond of Franklin, NC, and Connie Corpening of Woodstock, GA. He is also survived by his sisters, Jane Brannon of Charles Town, W. VA, Kay Corpening of Franklin, NC, and brother, Frank Corpening of Franklin, NC. Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was a rock that always provided for his family. His blue eyes and warm smile lit up any room he entered. He was loved by all and will be missed by everyone who knew him. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery, Atlanta, GA.
