Barbara Ellen Spencer

Barbara Ellen Tendick Spencer (Nana) also known affectionately as Weenie passed on to her heavenly home Thursday, February 9th two days short of her 92nd birthday. She was the last surviving child of Edd and Elsie Tendick s twelve children. Barbara is survived by one daughter, Kathy Christen and one son, Kevin Spencer (Roseann) and the following grandchildren: Branden Christen, Whitney Russell, Lauren Carpenter, Tori Shanley, Zach Thompson, Adrian Bland, Kyle Spencer, Christopher Spencer, Andrew Spencer, Theresa Spencer, Sarah Spencer and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verba Spencer, three children Carolyn Reedy, Gordon Spencer, Roger Spencer and two grandchildren Debbie Brockhouse and Brian Spencer. Barbara lived most of her life in the Murrayville, Illinois area, however the last two years she lived with her daughter, Kathy in Woodstock, GA. She was a member of the Murrayville United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star. Throughout her life she enjoyed sewing, crafts and collecting knick knacks. She loved going to estate auctions, yard and garage sales. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and when they were not around she babysat children in the neighborhood. She will be sorely missed by many, many friends that she made throughout her life. A private family service will be held in Georgia. The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate her life at a future date at the Murrayville United Methodist church and then she will be laid to rest beside her husband in Winchester, Illinois.
