Barbara Loden

Barbara Helen Loden, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away on February 28, 2025.

Barbara was born on November 12, 1935, to the late William and Nellie Bradley.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, William “Bill” Loden Jr.

Barbara is survived by her two children Ginger (Brian) Garrett, and Phyllis (Larry) Morgan; her grandchildren: Heather, Nicole, Phillip, Andrew (Julie), William “Bradley” (Marisha), and Adrian (Marianna); in addition to her three great grandchildren. Her life impacted so many and will truly be missed by all she loved.

Barbara’s life was filled with so much joy, overflowing from her relationship with the Lord, which was of the utmost importance to her. She was a faithful member of Cumming Baptist Church, where she was both a charter member and served as the coordinator over the building and grounds committee. In addition to her responsibilities within the church, she was active in the choir. Other roles in her life included serving as the Past Worthy Matron in the Order of the Eastern Star; as well as a member and past president of the Cumming Shrine Club Cumminettes; and a member of Daughters of the Nile. She was very involved in the Shriners Club along with her husband. In her personal time, she loved gardening, cooking, always looking for ways to serve and help others, and loved being a grandmother.

Her life is one that was fully lived and worthy of being celebrated.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at McDonald & Son Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM. Graveside service will then take place at 1:15 PM at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
