Barbara Jean Groover

Barbara Jean Groover, age 86, passed away at home surrounded by family on March 2, 2018. Barb was born in a small town outside New Orleans Louisiana.

She married her incredible husband, Bill Groover, in November 1951. They had three children they raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Barb attended beauty school and had a thriving nail business for many years.

Barb was always active in her church, loved singing in the choir, and attended Bible Study Fellowship. Barb loved the beach and being with her family.

Barb is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill Groover, her three children:

Darlene Walton (Bill), Freeman Groover (Brenda), and Kathleen Barnhart (Rick).

Barb is also survived by five grandchildren: Allison Johnson, Brittany Fletcher (Taylor), Bennett Walton, Samantha Steffes (Andrew), Nicholas Groover (Rachel); six great-grand children: Tashawn & Alissa Johnson, Ezra & Jude Fletcher, Hunter & Emery Steffes. She is also survived by a sister, Rose Harter (Jesse) of Tullos, Louisiana.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Barb will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at 2:00 at Norcross First United Methodist Church,
