Ashley Welsch

Ashley Ann Welsch, 37, of Cumming, Georgia returned to her heavenly home Thursday, January 18, 2024, after fighting a nearly three year battle with liver cancer. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family.

Ashley was born August 01, 1986. She was raised by Melinda Humber, mother, & William Humber, along with Steve Faust, father. Ashley was a loving mother to Adelyn and Alexandra Shorter and loving stepmother to Reagan Welsch. Ashely is survived by husband Brian Welsch, siblings Andrew (Libby) Humber and Kaitlin and Sam Faust. She is also survived by former spouse, Alex (Yulissa) Shorter. Ashley was a joyful Aunt to Huxton and Hollyn Humber. She leaves behind many cousins, aunts, and uncles, along with her grandmother Betty Jo Wilson, called Annie. She is predeceased by brother Steven Faust, her Papa, Sammy Faust, and her Andad & Nana, Max and Gatha Ladson.

Ashley was a passionate educator. She was creative and kind and left a mark on students and co-workers alike.  Ashley was a leader and mentor and did not hesitate to let her light shine. She was known for her generous spirit, willingness to go the extra mile, and authenticity. She will be greatly missed by her community, dear friends, and many loved ones. Her family celebrates that she is at peace with her Creator.

Visitation will be held January 20th at McDonald & Son Funeral Home 4 – 6 PM (150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA, 30040). The celebration of life will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, January 21st at Local Church Forsyth (3105 Dahlonega Highway Cumming, GA 30040). In line with her deep faith and gratitude for 37 years of wonderful memories, Ashley requested that celebratory colors be worn to her memorial.
