Andrew Jeremy Maronge

Andrew Jeremy Maronge, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, along with his fiance, Julie Wright, while celebrating Memorial Day on Lake Lanier. Andrew was born on July 24, 1978 to George Maronge, Jr. and Glenda (Fortinberry) Maronge, of Trussville, Alabama, the youngest of three children.

He loved the outdoors, spending much of his time working as the Head Superintendent at Chestatee Golf Club. When he wasn't on the golf course, he poured his life into his friends and family. His passion for life and his love for others is evidenced by the number of people who have had the honor to call him friend.

Andrew enjoyed other sporting activities in addition to golf. He was an avid tennis player and competed in local tournaments regularly. Even though he graduated from Auburn University and grew up in Trussville, Alabama, his family hailed from Louisiana, and he remained a lifelong LSU Tigers fan.

He is survived by his son, Riley Maronge, his parents, his brother, Chris (Wendy) Maronge, his sister, Amanda (Jonathan) McCants, six nieces and nephews, his fiance's two daughters, Alexandra and Kylie Martin, and his former wife and mother of Riley, Alaina Ericson.

A joint funeral service will be held for Andrew and Julie at First Baptist Cumming at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, from 5-9 p.m. at McDonald & Son Funeral Home in Cumming, as well as 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at First Baptist Cumming.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to The Andrew Maronge Memorial Fund at Helping Hands Ministries (checks may be sent to the fund at PO Box 337, Tallulah Falls, GA 30573).
