Alvin "Al" Earl Brown

Alvin (Al) Earl Brown, 75, of Woodstock, GA passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2010 after a courageous battle with melanoma. He was born in Tellico Plains, TN on September 29, 1934. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Buster and Charles Brown and half-sister, Vesta Lee Evans. Al graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS in Industrial Engineering in 1958. He also received his Masters in Business degree from Auburn University. He went to work for Robbins Air Force Base as a civilian engineer in 1958 where he worked for 13 years. In 1971, Al joined the United States Postal Service where he enjoyed a successful career for 36 years. He is fondly remembered by his family, co-workers and lifelong friends. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mamie Lou Brown of Woodstock, GA; son, Douglas Brown of Alpharetta, GA; daughter, Susan Stachura of John s Creek, GA; and brother, Doyle Brown of Morrow, GA. He has three granddaughters, Sarah, Jenna, and Zoe Stachura. Memorial services for Alvin Brown will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 30, in the chapel of McDonald & Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 30 from 1:00 2:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
