Alleen Henderson

Alleen Dorris Henderson passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at 90 years of age. She was born at home in Crabapple, Georgia on June 25, 1934 to the late Walter and Ola Mae Dorris. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, John B. Henderson, Jr. She was a 1952 graduate of Milton High School, raised her family in Hopewell, GA and retired from Fulton County Board of Education Transportation as a School Bus Driver serving Hopewell Elementary, Milton and others. She is survived by her three children J. Dennis Henderson (Sharon) of Hayesville, NC, Steven R. Henderson (Donna) of Hoover, AL, Lisa H. Phillips (Andy) of Cumming, GA, and grandchildren April H. Cochran (Brad), Kathleen H. Buffington, John Henderson, Reece Phillips and Drew Phillips.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA 300040. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 am until time of service. The Rev. Alan Sutton and Brother Kenny Collett will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations in Alleen’s name to Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 15730 Hopewell Road, Milton, GA 30004.
