Cumming, Georgia
Alexandra (Lesia) Stair was born March 9, 1947, in Ellwangen displaced persons camp in Germany as a Ukrainian refugee following World War II. She came to the United States with her parents and brother Bo when she was about three years old. Her journey to citizenship and a life in this country continued in Rhinecliff, New York.
She met her husband David while in college. Together, they lived in California, Florida and then, for the majority of their marriage, in Roswell, Georgia - a community they loved dearly. They raised two children, Philip and Elizabeth.
Lesia's children always came first to her; they were her everything. From standing in long lines at Richway during the holidays to ensure she snagged a prized Cabbage Patch Doll to putting care into meals - even when the little girl in her life insisted on baked chicken wings instead of hot dogs - to making Halloween costumes and everything in between, Lesia was there. Her fondest memories and most joyful years were those when she had her children nearby.
Lesia joined her husband in the arms of our savior on February 27, 2019, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. In the months leading up to her passing, she told her daughter that she was at peace, not in pain and ready to go. She is survived by her children Philip and Elizabeth, daughter-in-law Cammie, son-in-law Rory, and three grandchildren, Grace, Caleb and Jim.

A small, immediate family memorial will be held in both Lesia's and David's honor. Their ashes will be spread together in a place of good memories.
